Portland Airport (PDX) has over 50 daily direct flights to/from the Bay Area, daily direct flights to/from every major US city, and has been rated the #1 airport in the US for business travelers by Traveler magazine for 4 out of the last 5 years.
Portland is about 15 minutes west of PDX, and Hillsboro another 25 minutes west of Portland.
Portland’s TriMet MAX (Metropolitan Area Express) Light Rail connects PDX to downtown Portland and Hillsboro, eliminating the need for a rental car.

Portland is well-known for its excellent coffee, micro-brewed beer, restaurants, music scene and green-ness (both literal and figurative), making it a very fun place to visit or live.
Hillsboro is the technology suburb of Portland, and the heart of “Silicon Forest”. It is home to Intel’s largest semiconductor fabrication facility, as well as several other high-tech manufacturers. This has brought a wealth of well-educated and well-paid high-tech workers who now live and work in Hillsboro, resulting in a very family-attractive community with beautiful (and affordable) homes, excellent schools, and involved parents.
